FROM JOX TO VOX: BUILDING A VOICEOVER BUSINESS
Proudly presented by RADIOMALL!
Wed February 10th, 2010
2:00pm to 3:00pm CST

At first glance, it would seem that a strong background on-the-air would easily translate to a voiceover career, but it's not quite that simple.  This webinar featured a discussion on the realities of getting started in doing freelance voiceovers, whether it be in providing radio/TV stations with their signature voice or finding work doing narrations and other so-called "industrial" reads.  it shared information on the nature of freelance voiceovers and what you need to bring to the table in terms of talent, work ethic and equipment.  Conclave Board member Jay Philpott of 106-5 The Arch/St. Louis conducted the webinar with his guests:

DICK ERVASTI, nationally recognized voiceover talent who was the voice of "The NFL on Fox" for eight years, and has done literally tens of thousands of commercials, narrations, sweepers, promos, introductions and more.  Dick is currently voicing "America's Most Wanted" and is currently running in national campaigns for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury and Hefty trash bags.  Dick is also the station voice for KQRS and LOVE 105 in Minneapolis and KEZK/St. Louis.  Learn more about Dick at www.dickervasti.com

ANN DeWIG, is one of the busiest and most in-demand female station voices working today.  Ann's distinctive and versatile deliveries are heard on over 100 stations across America, and there probably isn't much real estate in this country out of range of her voice.  Learn more about Ann at www.anndewig.com

EMMETT ANDREWS is a former air talent and production wizard from 105-7 The Point (KPNT/St. Louis) who now works for Sweetwater Sound, one of America's premiere sources of pro audio gear.  Inevitably, as questions come up as to what equipment is necessary to build a home studio, Emmett will be there with his knowledge of radio and pro audio gear to answer you.
